The editor and exporting
A composition is where material becomes a finished video. Arrange the scenes, add captions and sound, then export it as a single file — or hand it off to another editor to finish.
Starting a composition
＋New in the sidebar → Composition.
Click material in the media pool on the left to add it as a scene — the screen prompts you with ← Click material in the media pool to add scenes here.
Reorder the scenes until the flow works.
Show “Compositions” (video editing) is switched off under Settings → Appearance & input. Turn it back on — nothing was deleted.
Previewing
With focus outside any text field, these keys are available.

Adding captions
Add a caption to a scene and adjust its position and style. A style can be saved and reused, confirmed with Caption style saved.
You may see A caption can't be added at this position. Choose a point that falls inside the scene's range.
Generating subtitles automatically Mac speech recognition
Subtitles can be transcribed from narration audio. It takes a moment, and on completion you'll see something like 🪄 Generated {n} subtitles automatically. Each one is then editable as an individual caption.
Transcription uses your Mac's speech recognition. The first time, allow WorkPilot under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Speech Recognition. Without it, this fails.
Adding sound ElevenLabs
Each lane has a defined role. Dropping audio on the wrong one prompts you, e.g. Drop audio onto the narration lane.

Using your own audio library
Register a folder of your own music and sound effects, and it appears in the media pool under Audio stock. Files added to that folder show up too.
Exporting the finished video
Play it through once in the preview.
Run the final export.
Processing runs, and a single video file is saved when it completes.
Exports land in 作品/ inside your storage folder.
Turning on Add an AI-generated label by default under Settings → Safety makes labelling the default. Set this to match what your client or platform requires.
Exporting for Premiere
To finish the detail work in another editor, export the material and structure together. You'll see Exporting for Premiere… while it runs, then Premiere folder exported.
You get a media/ folder containing the material, plus an XML file describing the structure.
Import that XML in your editor and you resume with the scene order intact.
Captions are burned into the exported video rather than travelling as text in the XML. Plan to recreate them in the other editor.
Receiving material from your phone
Send footage from your phone and the Mac asks how to receive it: create a new composition, or save it to the file manager. If you trimmed the clip or added music on the phone, it can be imported as a composition with those edits applied. See Phone remote.
