Releases
Updates and support
WorkPilot checks for updates on its own. This page covers how updating works, and where to look when something goes wrong.
Updating
Update checks happen at launch and every six hours. When a new version exists, a red dot appears on the settings button at the top right.
Open Settings → About.
Press ⤓ Download and update (v{version}). Progress is shown.
Once it's ready, press ⟳ Restart and update (v{version}).
Your history and settings are preserved. To check manually, press Check for updates — if you're current it says Up to date.
Updates can't be applied unless the app is in /Applications.
If you're running it from inside the DMG or the desktop, move it there and try again.
Reading what changed
The same About tab has What's new in this version and Update history. The history goes back through previous releases (Show more ({n} more versions)), which is where to check when a feature first appeared.
When something won't connect
Start with Settings → Connections → Diagnose all services to see which service is the problem.

When behaviour seems wrong
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| The conversation has drifted | ⟳ Reset session, or 📖 Continue in a new chapter |
| Replies are slow | Likely a very long conversation. Break it into a chapter (chapters) |
| It doesn't follow instructions | Check you haven't over-equipped. Remove what isn't relevant |
| It proceeds without asking | Set approval mode back to Ask every time (approval mode) |
| It won't stop | Esc. During an autonomous run, press Stop |
| A loop isn't running | Check Run on schedule is on and look at the next-run time (scheduling) |
Getting data back
Conversation history is backed up daily. Under Settings → Data → Backup you can pick a date and restore. The current state is set aside automatically, so restoring is reversible. See Backups and restoring.
If nothing here helps
Settings → About → Open log folder gets you the logs. Please include them when reporting a problem.
